Hi My name is Maggie & I'm 34 years old (Shhhh!)
I'm Mum to three boy's aged 14yrs, 11yrs & 5yrs and wife to Paul pictured above
The reason I chose to become a WAHM was because of my eldest sons disability. I need a certain amount of flexibility what with hospital appointments and such. He has a chromosome disorder called 18Q-. This won't mean much to most people, in short he has developmental delay i.e. he can't walk or talk (not even sign) and he attends a special school. That all aside he's a very loving little boy who has changed my life in so many ways and brought me great happiness. My two younger sons are fine and do not carry the abnormality. They are full of life and ALWAYS on the go! They too have brought a whole new dimension to my life. I wrote a poem about my boys. I thought it would be nice to share it.
Composed & Written by Maggie Forman 12/06/2003© I started using cloth nappies with my youngest son. I wish I had discovered them earlier. I hear people who use disposables complain about the inconvenience of cloth. I personally can't see where they are coming from. You have to wash your clothes right? So where's the hardship of putting on one extra wash load ???!!?? They complain about emptying the poo, but what they fail to see is that you're supposed to empty ALL nappies not just cloth ones. They think they are expensive but they aren't looking at the long term where the savings are huge. And they are over looking the biggest saving of all ' THE EARTH'. I rest my case and gracefully get down from my soap box ! Thank you for taking the time to find out a little bit about me. |
